Wasting Your Life or Building Wealth

The Devil has a Foothold When You Do Not Love

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” -1 John 4:7–8

The Lord revealed Himself to me as Love, and only then did I begin to truly understand my relationship with God.

It was at that moment that I saw how deeply wounded I was on the inside, even as an adult. Those buried memories surfaced—painful, humbling, and revealing. They exposed the distance between the strength I showed to the world and the brokenness I carried in secret. I realized how easily one can live a divided life: appearing whole while silently bleeding within.

Many adults remain prisoners of their past, mistaking silence for healing. But suppressing pain is not deliverance. Ignoring wounds does not make them disappear, it only gives them room to grow stronger roots. The trauma and pain of your past can become idols if left unchecked. The flesh can become a god, and life becomes a wasteful illusion no matter how glamorous it looks. The devil can demonize trauma, twisting it into a weapon of destruction. Yet God, in His mercy, can redeem that same pain for His glory, if you will surrender it to Him.

Suffering comes in many forms, but there is no suffering that God cannot transform when laid at His feet.

I often ponder the demands of love, its endurance, its cost, and the responsibility it places on us. Love is passionate, yes, but passion alone is not enough. Love is a commitment. Love is sacrifice.

Sometimes we find it hard to forgive or to reach out because our pride is wounded. Yet, like a tender plant, love flourishes when watered with forgiveness. Forgiveness is the thread that binds love and keeps it alive.

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26–27

Whenever you withhold forgiveness, you open the door for the enemy of your soul. It is a dangerous place to stand. The spirit of unforgiveness never comes alone, it invites pride, bitterness, and even sickness, each carrying the mark of demonic oppression.

Love, therefore, is not just an emotion. Love is God’s system of defense for your soul. When you walk in love, you walk in God, and nothing the enemy builds against you can stand.
